Although I met Megan through Ian because they both work together as 5th grade teachers, it didn’t take long after meeting her and Jake that I claimed them as my own friends. Megan and Jake started dating in High School and have been together ever since. Needless to say they have a love that has not only lasted, but continues to grow!
It was a typical Memorial Day weekend in Indiana. It was hot and humid with chances of rain. Luckily, we never felt a drop of rain all day even though it thundered right as their outdoor ceremony began. We started the day off with the girls at a cute AirBNB on the north side of Evansville. Hair and makeup was in full swing while the guys hung out at Jake and Megan’s house. Jake and Megan decided to do a first look before the wedding so we were able to do a majority of the photos before their 5pm ceremony. This allowed extra time for the wedding party and family to hang out and enjoy the day together.
The ceremony was perfect! It was performed by Jake’s brother and was kept short and sweet with some personal humor that had everyone laughing. Once they were pronounced husband and wife we finished up a few photos then headed inside for the celebration. The Bauerhaus was beautifully decorated with fresh spring flowers by Jake’s mom and a live jazz band set the mood. The Bauerhaus served an amazing plated meal with cake and once toasts and first dances were done, the dance floor quickly filled up! The band, the decor, the food . . . everything was just perfect.
Megan and Jake, you are so incredible and it was such an honor to be a part of your day. See you at trivia when you get back from honeymooning!
