#1 most asked question “What do I wear for my session”? Since we live in a state of unpredictable weather it’s tough to plan a wardrobe. However, I feel it’s best to dress for the season, not the weather! What does that mean exactly? Well, you will likely freeze or burn up. For fall photos you should be in layers, long sleeves and sweaters. It could be unseasonably warm that day but if you dress for the weather you will end up with shorts and tanks with all the fall foliage as a background and it just wont jive. Also, for spring there should be dresses and short sleeves maybe lightweight sweaters or jackets even though it could be a bit chilly that day. It’s not uncommon for the ladies to have a jacket on in between photos or locations. So you could possibly be hot or cold during your spring/fall session but it’s only for 1-2 hours max! #worthit

Flannel!! Flannel is the perfect fall shirt! My personal flannel count is almost in the double digits so obviously I’m a fan! But, I also love the bit of contrast in pattern. Which brings me to my next tip. 

Don’t be afraid of patterns and don’t be too “matchy matchy”! Prints are in, people! One of you can go bold print and the other subtle. Floral dresses are coming in hot and I am not complaining! Find a dress you love then pull colors from it to match a shirt for your man. Like the photos below.

To recap, dress for the season and bring on the patterns, especially floral dresses. Even if you aren’t feeling the prints, any dress is perfect. Dresses tend to photograph nicely, are very flattering on all figures and just make you feel pretty! (An A-Line dress is flattering on all body types)

An engagement session is about an hour and usually consist of two different outfits. Most bring a dress and a casual outfit that includes jeans. But at the end of the day everyone has different taste and body types so go with what makes you happy and feel beautiful.  No matter what you wear I will photograph your love and kisses and hopefully you will have fun while doing it!
